Check out this linen-looking light fixture from Amazon. It’s an 18-inch semi-flush mount with a dual-drum design, and it gives a pretty even look.
Overall I’m really happy with it. The one annoying part is getting the bulbs in, which I’ll explain below.

What I liked
Even, soft light
You have two layers and then a diffuser plastic, and it gives a pretty even look.
No flicker when dimmed
The fixture itself works well with dimmable lights. There are no issues with flickering from the fixture. Like everything else, it depends on using good quality bulbs.
Simple mounting
It mounts to a standard ceiling light mounting point, so there’s nothing extra or different you have to do.
Things to know before you buy
- Getting the bulbs in. I tried to unscrew the bottom part to get the bulbs in, but the plastic is pretty well mounted. It doesn’t pop off easily. I ended up going in around the top and doing the bulbs that way.
- Bulb choice matters. It takes three bulbs, and I believe it can take up to 60W. No flicker from the fixture, but use good quality dimmable bulbs.

Install notes
It works with a standard ceiling light mounting point. For the bulbs, I went in around the top instead of taking off the bottom diffuser. Turn off the power at the breaker before you work on any light fixture.
