OUTDSPLY Outdoor Electrical Box Review: Keeping My Mower Charger Dry

Black OUTDSPLY waterproof outdoor cable box closed on the carpet with power cords coming out of each end

Heads up: this post contains affiliate links, and I may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.

This is the waterproof outdoor cable box I got to use with my outdoor lawn mower’s charger brick. The brick sits inside, and the cables come out through rubber seals at each end.

So far I’ve had it outdoors in some pretty heavy rain, and it’s kept everything good. My video is a short walkthrough, so I’ll be upfront below about what I didn’t cover.

I bought this box myself.

Quick take

  • A waterproof box for outdoor cables and a charger brick
  • Cable outlets on one side, plus one on either end
  • Little rubbers by each side for the cables
  • Comes with some zip ties and some little adhesive pads
  • The catch: it’s only been outside a short while, so this is a “so far” verdict

What I liked

Room for the charger brick

It opens up, and that’s where the charger brick goes. The cables come out the sides, and you can see it has the little rubbers by each side for the cables.

Extras in the box

It also comes with some little accessory pieces: some zip ties and some little adhesive pads.

Heavy rain so far

So far I’ve had this outdoors in some pretty heavy rain, and it’s kept everything good. I don’t quite understand why some outdoor appliances come with things that are not waterproof, but I added this on and it’s worked well so far.

Things to know before you buy

  • It’s a short test. I’ve had it out in some heavy rain, but I can’t speak to how it holds up over years.
  • It’s a quick walkthrough. The video shows the box and the parts it comes with. It doesn’t show the full outdoor setup.

What I didn’t cover

I didn’t measure the inside or test how big a power strip or brick will fit beyond my mower’s charger. If you have a specific setup in mind, check the size on the listing.

Install notes

Put the charger brick inside, run the cables out through the rubber seals at the ends, and close it up. It also comes with zip ties and little adhesive pads.

Specs from the Amazon listing

These come from the Amazon listing title. I didn’t test them myself:

  • Medium size, 11.6 x 5.2 x 4.1 inches
  • IP54 waterproof rating
  • 6 cable entries
  • Black

Who it’s for

Good fit if you: have an outdoor charger brick, power strip or connection that needs a cover from the rain.

Maybe skip it if you: need to fit something bigger than a charger brick, since that is all I tested it with.

Bottom line

I added this box to keep my outdoor lawn mower’s charger brick dry. It has cable outlets with rubber seals at each end, comes with zip ties and adhesive pads, and so far it’s kept everything good in some pretty heavy rain. It’s worked well so far.
