Let’s talk about these towel hooks I got on Amazon. They’re adhesive, and the design works really well.
The big catch is the adhesive they come with. In my experience it’s no good, so here’s what I did instead.
Quick take
- Square, sharper edges help grip your towel so it doesn’t slide off
- Nice modern look
- Pretty sturdy once you have a good adhesive on there
- Heads up: every hook where I kept the included adhesive has fallen off
What I liked
The design grips the towel
Having these square, more sharp edges does help grip your towel so it doesn’t slide off.

Sturdy once re-stuck
If you switch out the adhesive, it’s pretty sturdy. Once you have a good adhesive on there, it’s a nice modern look.
Things to know before you buy
- The included adhesive is no good. I’m sticking these onto porcelain tile, and I did clean the surfaces first. Still, every single one where I didn’t switch out the adhesive has fallen off.
- Plan on replacing it. I cleaned off the adhesive it came with and changed it out for a super strong adhesive, like 3M. Here’s the replacement adhesive I linked in my video.
What I didn’t cover
I’ve only used these on porcelain tile, so I can’t say how the stock adhesive does on other surfaces.
Install notes
Clean the surface, then clean off the adhesive the hooks come with and put on a strong one before you stick them up. I would not recommend using the ones it comes with. In my experience, they will fall off.
Specs from the Amazon listing
These come from the Amazon listing title. I didn’t test them myself:
- JAAWAN adhesive towel hooks, 4-pack
- Stainless steel
- Heavy duty, waterproof wall hooks
- Brushed nickel
Who it’s for
Good fit if you: like the look and don’t mind swapping in your own adhesive.
Maybe skip it if you: want hooks that hold right out of the box with the included adhesive.
Bottom line
The design works really well, and they look nice and modern. Just don’t rely on the adhesive they come with. Switch it out and they’re pretty sturdy.
