This is the brushed nickel door stop. You can install it with adhesive or with screws, and I went with adhesive on the baseboard.

It’s a simple upgrade, but it does exactly what I wanted: the door stops before it ever gets near the wall.

Quick take

  • Adhesive or screw mounting
  • No risk of the door hitting the wall
  • Stops the door evenly with room left for the handle
  • Brushed nickel matches my door handles
  • The catch: the bumper is a harder rubber, though it hasn’t left any marks

What I liked

No drilling needed

I installed it with the adhesive on the baseboard. If I ever need to, I can peel it off.

It stops the door in the right spot

On a standard door, there’s no risk of hitting the wall. It stops the door flush and even, and there’s still space for the door handle.

It matches the hardware

I like the brushed nickel. It matches my door handles, so it looks like it belongs.

I’ve put these on several of my doors and haven’t had any problems.

Things to know before you buy

  • It’s a harder rubber bumper. It hasn’t left any marks on my doors.
  • Pick your mounting method. Adhesive is easy to remove later, and screws are there if you want them.

What I didn’t cover

I only used the adhesive. I didn’t try the screw mounting in the video.

Install notes

I stuck it to the baseboard where the door would make contact. Clean the spot first so the adhesive grabs.

If you want a different style, I’ve also reviewed the HOOFUS mechanical door stopper.

Specs from the Amazon listing

These come from the Amazon listing title. I didn’t test them myself:

  • Wall-mounted stainless steel door stopper with rubber bumper tip
  • 3M self-adhesive tape
  • Pack of 2, 3 inches tall, silver

Who it’s for

Good fit if you: want a door stop that matches brushed nickel handles and don’t want to drill.

Maybe skip it if you: want a soft rubber bumper.

Bottom line

It’s easy to install, it matches my handles and it keeps the door off the wall. I’ve had no problems on any of the doors I’ve put them on.
