The Bose TV Speaker is an awesome upgrade to any TV system. The design is clean and sleek, and it’s actually not big at all.
My favorite part is the mode that brings voices forward, because so many shows have really loud action scenes and soft dialogue.
Quick take
- Compact. The width isn’t even close to my mantelpiece
- Voice mode that enhances dialogue on movies and shows
- Powerful sound for its size. It fills up a big room
- Bluetooth for your phone or other devices
- The catch: it’s not a surround sound system
What I liked
Clean and small
The design is very clean and sleek. You can see the width is not even close to the width of my mantelpiece. Looking at the TV as a whole, it’s a very clean look.

The voice mode
It comes with its own little remote control. My favorite mode enhances the voice on regular movies and shows. That’s honestly great, because a lot of shows have really loud action scenes but the voices are soft.
Big sound for a small speaker
The sound is powerful for a small device, and it fills up a big room.
Bluetooth and hidden cables
It also has Bluetooth, so you can connect your phone or other devices. I have it connected to the TV with an optical cable that goes through the wall, so there are no visible cables.
Things to know before you buy
- It’s not surround sound. It’s a big upgrade over the TV’s built-in speakers, not a full home theater.
- I used an optical cable. The listing also lists HDMI-ARC.
What I didn’t cover
I didn’t test music performance, adding a subwoofer, or the HDMI-ARC connection.
Install notes
I ran an optical cable from the TV through the wall to the speaker, so there are no visible cables.
Specs from the Amazon listing
These come from the Amazon listing title. I didn’t test them myself:
- Bose TV Speaker soundbar with Bluetooth and HDMI-ARC
- All-in-one compact soundbar
- Includes remote control, black
Who it’s for
Good fit if you: struggle to hear dialogue, or want a big step up from your TV’s built-in sound without a lot of equipment.
Maybe skip it if you: want true surround sound.
Bottom line
Overall, the sound quality is great. It’s not a surround sound system, but as a huge upgrade to the TV’s built-in sound, I would 100% recommend the Bose TV Speaker.
