Baby Car Camera Review: The Second One I Tried Actually Works

This is the camera I have installed for children in the back of the vehicle, so I can see the car seat from the front.

Cables and install

The cables are nice and long. The power cable comes up to the screen unit and plugs into power, and the camera cable runs across, back up around my door seal, along the top, and all the way to the back where it’s hidden. This is in an F-150, so it’s a rather large vehicle, and the cable was still long enough.

The mount is the best part

The camera has a standard tripod mounting point, the same screw you’d find on a camera. That let me use my GoPro mounts. Instead of using their strap around the headrest, I put a GoPro pole mount on the headrest and mounted the camera there for a view of the car seat.

How it’s working

This is actually the second camera I’ve tried. I returned the first one because the quality wasn’t good. On this one the night vision works well, and the screen unit is very small and sleek. Over about the month I’ve been using it, it’s been working really well.

Specs from the Amazon listing

These come from the Amazon listing title. I didn’t test them myself:

  • Listed as: Magnetic Baby Car Camera
  • 5″ 1080P IPS monitor
  • Snap and go
