Check out this awesome solid wood floating shelf we found on Amazon. The picture from the listing was actually the inspiration for our whole fireplace redesign.
What I liked
- Solid wood, and nice and thick. You can see all the grain and a real wood stain finish.
- Mounts very securely for a floating shelf
- Simple mounting. A bracket goes on the wall, and two mounting screws underneath secure the shelf to it.
- Hardware provided
Install tip: go into the studs
I marked where the studs are and drilled holes through the steel bracket so I could put screws straight into the studs. That way I know it’s really secure. When you pull on it, there’s very, very little, if any, movement.
