I got these LED light strips on Amazon and used them as part of a tray ceiling design. They’re pretty dim at the start of the video, then I bump the brightness all the way up.
Seamless light, no dots
These are seamless, flexible lights, which is how I was able to wrap them around the corners. They sit inside the tray, so everything is hidden. You don’t get the dots you’d see with a generic LED strip.

Features
You can make it work with music, there are different programmable fades, and it has all the features you’d expect with an LED light strip.
The downside: the white
The white is more of a mixture. I think these are RGB strips mixing colors, not RGBW. With RGBW you’d get a much more pure white.
Bottom line
Overall, you can see in the design that it works very well for ambient lighting in a tray ceiling.
