This is the VEVOR oscillating fan that I bought on Amazon. It came as a two-pack, and I have it mounted in my garage to clear out some of the hot air in the summer. It works, but there’s one mounting caveat I’m not really a fan of.
How it works
- Two pull strings. One does your fan speed and the other does your oscillation.
- Three speeds. The third speed goes noticeably faster.
- Adjustable mount. The mounting point at the bottom lets you rotate it slightly to aim it.
What I liked
It moves a fair amount of air. I have noticed a difference in the garage when I run it while it’s hot. It helps clear the heat out and keeps the rest of the house cooler.
The downside: the mounting points
This is the one caveat I’m not a fan of. The fan’s mounting points are in a triangle, so you’re not going to be able to go straight into a 2×4. And on the sides, you can’t just go into sheetrock. They do give you anchors for concrete, but I was mounting onto wood.

Install notes
There is some assembly required. To mount mine, I screwed a 2×6 into a 2×4, which gave me a wider piece. Then I screwed the fan onto that, using some washers to make sure it’s held securely.
Specs from the Amazon listing
These come from the Amazon listing title. I didn’t test them myself:
- 18-inch wall mount oscillating fan
- 3-speed high velocity
- Max 4000 CFM
- ETL listed
- Listed for indoor, commercial, residential, warehouse, greenhouse, workshop, and basement use
Bottom line
If you’ve got a hot garage, this does a good job pulling the heat out. Just plan on a wider board behind it if you’re mounting to wood studs.
