The Ferry Challenge
Now, I have to be honest: there is one small drawback to staying here, and that’s the ferry schedule. The ferry only runs a few times a day, which means planning your excursions requires a bit of foresight. If you want to chase the Northern Lights off the island at night, you’ll need to stay out until the first morning ferry—or settle in for the night on Vengsøy. While this might sound limiting, it’s also a good excuse to soak in the quiet beauty of the island after dark.
Why Vengsøy Rorbuer is Worth It
Despite the ferry logistics, I’d absolutely stay here again. The peace and quiet, coupled with the stunning natural surroundings, make it a truly special place. It’s ideal for those looking to slow down, enjoy nature, and experience the magic of Norway’s Arctic.
